Cairngorm Funicular Ready For Winter!

The Cairngorm Funicular has successfully completed its scheduled inspections and maintenance programme, ensuring it’s fully prepared for the upcoming winter season. With safety and reliability at the forefront, the team is now focused on welcoming visitors back to enjoy all that Cairngorm Mountain has to offer and a bumper winter season ahead.

The annual maintenance program included extensive testing of all key systems to ensure the funicular continues to perform reliably and efficiently. This work underlines Cairngorm Mountain’s commitment to operational excellence and readiness for the winter season.

“Our team has worked hard to get everything ready for the winter season, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back to enjoy the Cairngorms at their best,” said Mike Gifford, Chief Executive at Cairngorm Mountain. “The funicular is ready to go, and we’re excited for a fantastic season on the slopes.”

The Cairngorm Funicular remains a key part of the mountain’s uplift infrastructure, transporting skiers, snowboarders, and sightseers to the upper slopes and panoramic viewpoints from the Ptarmigan. With maintenance now complete, the railway is ready to play a central role in welcoming thousands of visitors to the resort this winter.

“The start of winter is always a highlight for everyone here at Cairngorm,” said Mike Gifford. “It’s fantastic to see the mountain coming alive again, and we’re looking forward to a busy, fun-filled season with visitors from near and far.”

Cairngorm Mountain is now counting down to the start of the winter season, with early snowfalls already hinting at great conditions to come, and even another cold snap due to hit next week! The team here at the resort are preparing the slopes, lifts, and facilities to deliver an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages and abilities as soon as the snow arrives.

Don’t forget – season passes are available now, with early bird pricing until 30th November! And remember, foot passengers are always welcome to enjoy the ride and stunning views from the top station at the regular funicular fare throughout the snowsports season.
