Well folks, Monday 4 May marks the final day of snowsports operations at Cairngorm for the 2025/26 season.
Snow cover is now very limited, with only patchy and incomplete runs remaining in the Ptarmigan Bowl, so we’ve made the decision to bring this fantastic season to a close.
We’re incredibly proud to have delivered lift-assisted snowsports from November through to May. What a season we have had!
As we transition out of the winter season, we will now return to operating under the Cairngorm Conservation Plan. This means that from tomorrow, the closed system will be in place, with funicular passengers able to enjoy travel to and from the Ptarmigan Top Station, but no access beyond the building or to the summit area.
A huge thank you to our amazing team across all departments for their hard work and dedication, and to every customer who visited this winter, you’ve made it a truly special season.
All of our summer activities including Mountain Biking, Tubing, Adventure Play Park, Ball Runs, and the Mountain Railway are open daily for visitors to enjoy. We hope to see you on the mountain soon.

Additional Information
This year, you can explore and play every day at Cairngorm Mountain. Our Mountain Bike Park, Tubing Slides, Wooden Ball Runs, Adventure Play Park, and of course, the Mountain Railway are open 7 days a week (weather permitting) excluding scheduled maintenance periods.
Mountain Carting is not currently available as there is still snow on the upper mountain section of the carting track.
Scheduled maintenance periods for the Funicular are:
- Monday 18 May to Wednesday 20 May 2026 and reopen to the public on Thursday 21 May.
- Monday 2 November to Sunday 8 November 2026 for essential routine maintenance and compliance checks.
