End of day Wednesday 7th January.
Some great snow sports today, with lovely snow conditions across the mountain. Around 25cm of fresh snow in the last 24 hours in a straight fall.
The Ptarmigan bowl is now full width and the Ciste Fairway has also improved in depth and width. The upper Cas is improving with good conditions on the down line too.
We now have a pisted run to the Base Station via the Shieling piste, down Cottam’s way and the Home Road. So that’s 3540 metres long, top to Base Station. We plan to open the M2 and Daylodge tomorrow. The M2 is full width, the Daylodge is narrow and has thinner cover near the base.
Tomorrow’s forecast is light winds, with sunny breaks in the afternoon. The temperature will be -6C at the Top Station and -2C at the Base Station.

News from the Slopes
More Lift Passes have been released for booking on our webshop through to Sunday 18 January: book.cairngormmountain.co.uk/lift-passes
Capacity is limited at the weekend and it is unlikely we will have availability on the day so please don’t travel if you haven’t booked. Mid-week we will have more tickets available with potential for walk-ins on the day. If there are no tickets available on the booking system for your chosen day that means we are at capacity already.
Multi-day passes are not available at the moment and we do not have enough surface lifts open at the bottom to be able to offer ski touring tickets. Due to the changing conditions, we will release tickets only a short time in advance. If the weather is more settled, then this may change. During this busy time, we may not be able to respond to messages, comments, and email enquiries and suggest following updates on our Mountain Report.
Thanks as always for your support, it’s awesome up here and we are stoked winter has returned to the Cairngorms!
