  • Funicular: Expected

Last updated 02/01/2026 16:59pm

With the natural snowfall, the Beginners Area is in great condition. Snowmaking will continue as we work to increase the size of the slope.

Cover is thin in places on the run down from the Top Station to the Ptarmigan T-Bar. Good conditions underfoot from the top of the Ptarmigan back to the Top Station.

Further snowfall forecast over the weekend which should drift in around the fences.

Snow Level: 400m

News from the Slopes

With the snow continuing to come down at all levels we have closed the access road temporarily to uphill traffic whilst the ploughs work.

The Ptarmigan T-Bar opened earlier this afternoon and the operations team have been working on the Ciste T-Bar which we plan to open tomorrow as well.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, there is still an amber weather warning in place. Heavy snow is forecast through the night with north-westerly 15 mph winds at the Base Station and 25-30 mph at the Top Station, potential for gusting up to 40 mph. Temperatures are ranging from -6°c to -10°c with wind chill making it feel considerably colder. There will be no floodlit sessions, or tubing this weekend.

We have released more lift passes for booking online through to Sunday 11 January: book.cairngormmountain.co.uk/lift-passes

For those less experienced, half-day beginners area only passes are available. Please note that these tickets are only valid on the magic carpet.

As always, with snow on the roads please take care when travelling to the mountain.
