An Action-Packed Activity at the Heart of the Cairngorm National Park

The Adventure Play & Tubing Park is a must do activity if you are visiting Cairngorm Mountain and the Aviemore area this summer. Located just outside the Day Lodge at base of the ski area our Adventure Play & Tubing Park offers visitors an exhilarating, high-speed experience with incredible views over Loch Morlich and the Spey Valley.

Here at Cairngorm Mountain, we have slides suitable for all ages making a trip to the Adventure Play & Tubing Park a fun-filled day out for all the family. Regardless of ability our enthusiastic team will be on hand to offer encouragement and answer any questions so you can enjoy your experience in the safest way possible.


The Spindrift

At over 70 metres long with two parabolic turns the Spindrift is our most popular slide. Fly round the corners at high-speed or if you’re looking for an extra bit of excitement take a spin off the start.

The Spindrift uses only our medium tubes which are suitable for those over the age of 4 and above 1 metre tall. Please make sure you remain seated at all times when inside the tube and hold onto the handles. If you would like a spinning start just ask one of our friendly slide attendants.

The Cliffhanger

Step up to the edge of the Cliff-hanger and experience a thrilling adrenaline rush on the way down. Either drop-off on your own in a medium or double-up with one of our new maxi tubes, the Cliff-hanger is built for all to enjoy!

If you are doubling up make sure you remain seated, side by side and hold onto the handles. Do not sit upright, lie down or on top of each other. For full details on age and height restrictions for the slides please see our terms and conditions.

The Snowflake

Our focus for the Adventure Tubing & Play Park was to include all ages and abilities. With a gentle slope designed specifically for our mini tubes, the Snowflake is the perfect introduction to tubing for wee ones and those who aren’t quite confident to take on the bigger slides.

The Snowflake is suitable for children aged 2 and over. Please note all children using the slide must be supervised at all times by their responsible adult, make sure the bottom of the slide is clear before your child sets off. The ‘Snowflake’ slide is not manned by a slide attendant, it is the duty of the participants responsible adult to ensure they adhere to the regulations of the slide and the tubes.

The Adventure Play Winch Cat & Zip Line

The fun doesn’t stop with Tubing, climb aboard the all new Adventure Play Winch Cat and Zip Line!

If you are not participating in a tubing session then please access the park via the signposted route over the bridge from the Day Lodge. Please try to avoid obstructing those who are using the tubing slides. If you are planning to stay and play after your tubing session please return your tube before doing so.

The Adventure Play Winch Cat & Zip Line is suitable for children only, under 7’s must be supervised by their responsible adult at all times. Please be respectful of people using the park – be kind, wait your turn and allow others to have a go.

Face Covering Policy

Here at Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd we strive to provide our visitors with the best experience possible and have taken certain precautions to ensure that COVID-19 security is maintained.

Due to the close interaction required to operate the slide correctly, and provide the best customer experience possible, social distancing measures are reduced when within certain areas of the Adventure Play & Tubing Park enclosure. For COVID-19 security reasons we require all staff and participants to wear a face covering when in reduced social distancing zones, these are in the queuing area and at the top of the Spindrift & Cliffhanger slides. Once outside these zones, face coverings may be removed. If you, or any of the members of your party require a face covering please ask a member of staff and they will be provided.

Booking Information

Pre-booking is essential for this activity. Bookings can be made by credit/debit card, or PayPal payments through our website via Ticketinghub up to an hour before the session. Tickets are £10 per person for the big slides with maximum of 15 per session, and £5 per person for the wee slide with a maximum of 5 people per session. Sessions are 30 minutes long with the first commencing at 10.00 and the last at 16.00 so you will have time for plenty of action-packed fun, please note there are session breaks at 12.00 and 14.30. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your session and head into the Mountain Shop to scan your tickets and receive your wristbands.

Here at Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd we take the safety of our staff and customers very seriously. For more details please see our full Adventure Play & Tubing Park terms and conditions below.

  1. GENERAL – TUBING SLIDES
    • All participants must follow all instructions given by Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd staff and slide operators. Failure to follow instruction given by staff may result in your immediate removal from the session.
    • Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn (no open top shoes). We reserve the right to turn away customers who do not come suitably dressed for the activity.
    • We strictly adhere to Neveplast’ s recommendations when it comes to their ‘ Tubby’ systems. Due to the nature of the slides design and operation, there is no opportunity for collision therefore wearing of a helmet is not compulsory. However, we do have helmets available should any participant prefer to wear one.
    • Due to the close interaction required to operate the slide correctly, and provide the best customer experience possible, social distancing measures are reduced when within certain areas of the Adventure Play & Tubing Park enclosure.     • Make sure the bottom of the slope is clear before setting off. Once your run is finished, clear the slope and return to the top. Always walk on the stairs and around the slope, do not run.
    • All children must be supervised at all times by their responsible adult.
    • Please remove all loose items including glasses, hats, car keys and mobile devices before your session commences.
  2. USE OF THE SPINDRIFT SLIDE
    • Only ‘Medium’ tubes can be used on the ‘Spindrift’ slide.
    • Participants must be at least 4 years old and between 1 and 2 metres tall to use the ‘Medium’ tubes.
    • Only 1 person may be in a ‘Medium’ tube at a time. You must always remain seated inside the tube with your legs out and hold onto the handles. Do not sit upright or lie down. 
    • You are not allowed share tubes or take turns, only the individuals accounted for at the time of booking are able to participate.
  3. USE OF THE CLIFFHANGER SLIDE
    • Only ‘Medium’ and ‘Maxi’ tubes can be used on the ‘Cliffhanger’ slide.
    • Participants must be at least 4 years old and between 1 and 2 metres tall to use the ‘Medium’ & ‘Maxi’ tubes.
    • Only 1 person may be in a ‘Medium’ tube at a time. You must always remain seated inside the tube with your legs out and hold onto the handles, do not sit upright or lie down. 
    • Up to 2 people are allowed in a ‘Maxi’ tube at a time. You must always remain seated, side by side if you are doubling up, inside the tube with your legs out and hold onto the handles. Do not sit upright or lie down and do not sit on top of each other.
    • If you would like to double up in a ‘Maxi’ tube please inform one of our slide attendants upon entering the enclosure.
  4. USE OF THE SNOWFLAKE SLIDE
    • Only ‘Mini’ tubes can be used on the ‘Snowflake’ slide.
    • Participants must be at least 2 years old to use the ‘Mini’ tubes. ‘Mini’ tubes are suitable for those up to the age of 8.
    • Only 1 person may be in a ‘Mini’ tube at a time. You must always remain seated inside the tube with your legs out and hold onto the handles, do not sit upright or lie down. 
    • All children using the slide must be supervised at all times by their responsible adult. Please make sure the bottom of the slide is clear before your child sets off.
    • The ‘Snowflake’ slide is not manned by a slide attendant, it is the duty of the participants responsible adult to ensure they adhere to the regulations of the slide and the tubes.
  5. USE OF THE ADVENTURE PLAY WINCH CAT & ZIP LINE
    • The Adventure Play Winch Cat & Zip Line is suitable for children only.
    • Under 7’s must be supervised by a parent at all times.
    • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
    • No ball games are allowed.
    • Do not climb on the roof of the ‘Winch Cat’.
    • All incidents should be reported to Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Limited, either on-site at the Mountain Shop, or by calling 01479 861261. If there is an incident that requires emergency medical attention please call 999.
    • Please do not drive the ‘Winch Cat’ off the premises.
  6. USE OF CAIRNGORM MOUNTAIN FACILITIES
    • Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd facilities are used at the customer’s own risk. The company accept no responsibility for injury, loss or damage unless as a direct result of its negligence.
    • Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd reserves the right to change prices and services at any time and without notification.
    • Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd retains the right to close the facilities at any time, for any reason.
  7. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
    • If your session is cancelled because of weather (snow, thunder, torrential rain, lightning, high winds, icy conditions) a full refund will be provided. We unfortunately cannot move bookings to another date.
    • If you fail to show up for your session and have not given prior notification, no refund will be provided.
    • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your tubing session by phone (01479 861261) or by email (accounts@cairngormmountain.co.uk) for a full refund to be provided. A full charge will be payable past this time unless in exceptional circumstances, Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Limited will review any late cancellation cases on an individual basis.
