Cairngorm estate’s potential as both an environmental and economic asset for Scotland will be the focus of four drop-in events next month.
Members of the public are being invited to put forward ideas on how the publicly-owned estate – which includes Cairn Gorm mountain – can sustain and enhance its role in underpinning a wide range of business, community, sports and leisure activities to benefit future generations.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), which owns Cairngorm, has commissioned specialists Threesixty Architecture and Jura Consultants to prepare a new masterplan for Cairngorm, tapping into the knowledge, ambitions and ideas of a broad range of stakeholders.
Public sessions are a vital part of the process and the masterplanners will be hosting open, drop-in events at:
Grantown Grammar School
Tuesday 11 February, 4.00 – 8.00 pm
Kingussie High School
Wednesday 12 February, 4.30 – 8.00 pm
Cairngorm Mountain day lodge
Thursday 13 February, 10.00 am – 12.00 noon
Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore
Thursday 13 February, 3.00 pm – 8.00 pm
People will also be able to submit views online. Details will be publicised as soon as they’re available.
