First Live Music Event Announcement – Valtos Presents: High Water Mark

February 27th, 2026.

Valtos Presents: High Water Mark Live In The Ptarmigan

We have big news…

We are beyond excited to announce that Valtos will be bringing their High Water Mark Tour inside the iconic Ptarmigan Station, perched at the top of Cairngorm Mountain. Yes… you read that right. Live music at 1,097 metres above sea level!

This is a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience one of Scotland’s most electric live acts in a setting like no other. Surrounded by big mountain views, the Ptarmigan will transform into the highest dancefloor in the country. This will be the first gig performed in the Ptarmigan Station for many, many years, and we can’t imagine a better way to relaunch live music on the mountain than with Skye’s very own Valtos bringing the energy. This will be our first live music event of 2026, and we’re hoping it’s just the beginning.

The mountains. The music. The atmosphere. This is going to be special.

Valtos presents: High Water Mark is the DJ/Live hybrid trio from Skye natives Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald, joined by fiddle player Euan McLaughlin.

“Known for blending traditional Gaelic folk with electronic music, Valtos has been making waves in both the folk and electronic scenes since their debut in 2021. With High Water Mark, they bring their distinctive sound, whilst sampling influences from artists like Bicep, Mylo, and Peatbog Faeries, while still incorporating Euan’s masterful fiddle playing.”

“In this new project, Dan and Martyn focus on the DJ side, delivering driving electronic, beats, while Euan adds traditional melodies through his fiddle, creating an energetic and dynamic experience that blends folk and dance music in a completely fresh way. This version of Valtos is a dancefloor-ready take on their already unique sound, offering audiences a chance to experience their music in a club setting while still capturing the essence of their folk roots.”
