Summer Activities at Cairngorm Mountain
Have a fantastic day out this summer at Scotland’s favourite mountain destination, Cairngorm Mountain. We’re just a short drive from Aviemore with lots of offer for all ages.
1. NEW Adventure Ball Runs
- Fun outdoor experience for all the family
- Answer questions and watch your ball snake through the runs!
- Experience the ball runs in locations around the resort
- Purchase your wooden ball from the Ticket Office or Shop (£5)
- Keep your ball to use over and over again
2. NEW Mountain Carting
- Experience Scotland’s only gravity fuelled carting
- Ride in an offroad Unimog vehicle to the start of the track
- Guided descent from over 900 metres above sea level
- Twist and turn through the 1.9km track
- Open throughout the school holidays and weekends
3. Mountain Bike Park
- Open throughout the summer holidays
- Choice of trails from beginners through to advanced
- Effortless conveyor uplift to the top of the beginners trails
- Discount for family tickets
- Bike hire available on site
4. Mountain Tubing Park
- Open throughout the summer holidays
- Wee slide suitable for ages 2 – 8
- Big slides suitable for ages 4+ to grandparents!
- 30 minute sessions
- Picnic benches close by
5. Wild Mountain Garden
- Open every day (free entry)
- Learn all about the local habitants, flowers and plants
- Pick up the quiz at the Mountain Shop (£1 for prize on completion)
- Get a photo at the highest phone box in the UK
- Discover the camera obscura and viewpoint
6. Join us for a Guided Mountain Walk
- Explore the mountain landscape with an experienced guide
- Visit the spectacular Northern Corries
- Learn about the local wildlife, birds and plants
- Stop for lunch watching the panoramic views
- Available on Tuesdays and Thursdays subject to availability
7. Refuel at the Cairngorm Café
- Enjoy lunch on the terrace with mountain views
- Sample a local gin, whisky or beer
- Family friendly menu for all ages
- Bring all the family (we’re dog friendly too)
- Cosy up inside in front of the log fire on a rainy day
8. Visit the Mountain Shop
- Pick up your prize here for the Mountain Garden Quiz (£1)

9. Stay Over
- Park up your motorhome or campervan overnight
- Enjoy panoramic views down to Loch Morlich and beyond
- Feel at home at our secure, gated park
- Only 5 minutes drive from our main facilities (during opening hours)
- Waste and water facilities on site (vehicle must have an on board toilet)
10. Don’t Forget the Viewpoints
- Head to the Mountain Garden for the Coire Cas viewpoint
- Take a seat on our benches in the car park with views down to Loch Morlich
- Follow one of our walking trails including the Northern Viewpoint
- Join us for a guided walk to explore more into the mountain
- Ride the upper mountain bike trails for the ultimate views!
Good to Know
- Travel lighter by jumping on the Aviemore Adventurer bus which runs regularly from Aviemore centre to our front door, and leave a lighter footprint.
- Baby changing and disabled toilet facilities
- Dog friendly
- Cairngorm Mountain Railway currently out of service
