At Cairngorm we have always supported the freestyle community, from hosting some of the best events to building some of the biggest jumps on UK soil.
It is quite a daunting experience venturing into the world of freestyle snowsports. Before you take your first steps into the park, here are some pointers from our park team to help get you started.
Our freestyle terrain caters to all, from beginners trying to get their first air to experts looking to add to their bag of tricks.
Throughout the season our freestyle terrain can change location depending on snow cover. There are 3 main places where you can expect to find freestyle terrain and snow park features around the resort.
Located at the bottom of the mountain adjacent to the Day Lodge, the lower snow zone has features perfect for beginners looking to find their freestyle feet. Please note, freestyle features will not be available in this area until snow cover is sufficient.
The Cas Shred park is situated in the middle of the mountain to the skiers left of the main Coire Cas run, full of jumps and rail features for all abilities.
Later in the season when the snow cover recedes from the lower mountain the Ptarmigan bowl can become home to some of the best parks ever seen at Cairngorm Mountain, with both massive jumps and technical rails (don’t forget some beginner features as well) there is always some epic sessions going down.
