Snowboard Takeover Weekend at Cairngorm Mountain

February 20th, 2026.

We’ve got a big weekend of snowboarding lined up this March!

We’ve got a big weekend of snowboarding lined up this March, with three days of events happening across the mountain and in Glenmore. From rail jams and splitboarding sessions to street-style jibbing and a banked slalom to finish things off, there’s plenty going on whether you’re riding, learning something new or just coming along to watch.

Drop in for a single event or stick around for the full weekend – either way expect good riding, good people and plenty of reasons to hang out on the hill.

Volcom Takeover – Friday 13 March

Kicking things off on Friday is the Volcom Takeover – a free-to-enter rail jam and social shred session focused on keeping things fun and getting everyone riding together.

Features will be set up to be accessible for anyone visiting the mountain, whether you’re keen to take part in the jam or just session them with your mates.

There’ll be BBQ food, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere throughout the day plus the features will stay in place for the rest of the weekend too, so you’ll have plenty of chances to get involved.

Final location will depend on weather and snow conditions and will be confirmed closer to the time.

UpBattle Splitboarding Weekender – Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 March

Thinking about getting into splitboarding, or already hooked on earning your turns? The UpBattle Splitboarding Weekender is all about bringing people together to learn more about touring and spend some time exploring beyond the lifts.

Across the weekend there’ll be demo equipment available, skills and safety seminars, and plenty of opportunities to chat with experienced riders.

It’s open to all abilities – whether you’re completely new and curious about making the step into splitboarding, or already comfortable and looking to meet others who enjoy getting out there.

Sunday wraps things up with a Le Mans-style race combining transitions, climbing and riding for a fun challenge to end the weekend.

Shred Sleds Pine Mtn.Lab 3 – Saturday Evening

Pine Marten Bar, Glenmore

Back for its third year, Pine Mtn.Lab returns to the Pine Marten Bar with another street-style jib setup. An “Open Jam” format contest will run through out the day with judges looking out for the top 3 riders rocking the features.

Expect some seriously good riding on a technical feature build, plenty of energy from the crowd and a proper close-up view of riders throwing down.

Strong riders will be right at home getting involved, but it’s just as good if you’re coming along to watch the action. Once the riding finishes, things roll straight into the after party in the bar – definitely one not to miss.

Cairngorm Snowboard Club Shred Slalom – Sunday 15 March

Closing out the weekend, the first ever Cairngorm Snowboard Club Shred Slalom draws inspiration from the community-driven spirit of banked slalom events around the world.

The course will be super friendly to suit all abilities, with timed laps giving riders a chance to challenge themselves or just have a go with friends and family.

Run by the Cairngorm Snowboard Club with support from Snowsport Scotland, this is a family-friendly banked slalom designed to be welcoming and accessible for everyone.

More details on how to sign up and get involved will be shared soon.

Three days of snowboarding, good people and plenty going on across the mountain – this is one you won’t want to miss. Come and catch up with old friends, meet some new riding pals, try something different or just grab a drink and hang out watching the action unfold.

As always at this time of year, everything is weather and snow cover dependent, so keep an eye on our website and social channels in the run up to the weekend for updates, locations and any changes to the plan.

See you on the hill!
