Aerial Drone Policy

Due to helicopter traffic during the Funicular reinstatement works a NOTAM is in place across the Cairngorm Estate and into Glenmore Forest Park. We will not be accepting any UAS operational requests during this time.

Operating UAS in the Cairngorms

Due to safety concerns for visitors, employees, Search and Rescue Aircraft, ski area property and ropeways, Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd prohibits the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or aerial drones, by the general public – including recreational users and hobbyists – without prior written authorisation from the company. This restriction includes drones for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above the ski area. This includes any drones launched or operated from beyond the ski area boundary.

Please contact CMSL if you have any questions, or if you are seeking prior approval to operate any aerial drones.
