  • Funicular: Open

Last updated 29/11/2025 16:01pm

The mild temperatures and high winds have reduced the snow cover at the top of the mountain. Whilst there has been some drifting there remains insufficient snow to run the Ptarmigan and Ciste T-Bars.

Snow Level: 900m

News from the Slopes

End of day Saturday 29 November.

The mighty Polar Express Poma and Learners Area will be open tomorrow – we are expecting a visit from Santa Claus to give it the once over before he heads down to his grotto at the Base Station. There remains insufficient snow to run the Ptarmigan and Ciste T-Bars.

It is looking like a bright, sunny day tomorrow with temperatures around -2°c at the Base Station and ranging around -6°c at the Top Station. Northeasterly winds 20-25mph so wrap up warm if you are visiting.

The first public train will depart at 10am and, as we have limited snowsports at the top, Mountain Railway passengers are welcome to head outside the Ptarmigan Station to see the snow.

Weather

Current Weather:
Very light northwesterly winds. Temperature at Base Station around -2°c. Hill fog above 800m. Some light snow forecast on the upper mountain this evening.

Forecast Weather:
Looking clear and sunny on Sunday. Temperatures around -2°c at the Base Station ranging around -6°c at the Top Station. Northeasterly 20-25mph at first, dropping light and variable. Then likely to strengthen southerly into night to 45mph.
