Bookings for our Mountain Carting experience are now live!
Your Mountain Carting experience will start at the Day Lodge, where you will meet your Cart Guide and get ready for action. After everyone is kitted up, you will head across to the Base Station and journey on the Funicular Railway up to the Ptarmigan Top Station at a height of 1,097m (3,599 ft) above sea level. From here you will descend through the ski area on the new, extended 3.4 kilometre track.

The Experience
Assisted by the power of gravity, you will enjoy an experience like no other in Scotland with breathtaking views across Loch Morlich and Glenmore!
Safety is the number one priority and everyone in the group will take this experience at their own pace. There will be several controlled stops on the way down with opportunities to get photos, which your guide will assist with. Get a glimpse at the adrenaline fuelled adventure below.

We can accommodate up to 12 participants per session led by 2 of our experienced Cart Guides. You can save on the price of your session by booking online, in advance.

Mountain Carting has a minimum age limit of 14 years old (photo ID required for under 18s) and maximum weight limit of 110kgs. There are four sizes of carts and we have limited quantities of each, when booking we ask you to select which cart size you require. Please see details of the suggested heights and weights for each cart size below.

We highly recommend bringing waterproof clothing in case of inclement weather. Please note, this activity takes place in an exposed mountain environment and is highly weather dependent. It may be cancelled at short notice due to either poor conditions on the day, or due to extreme weather forecasts for safety reasons.

Due to the nature of this activity it is strictly for ages 14 or over. Customers aged 18 or under must provide photo ID on the day. We reserve the right to refuse participation if you cannot provide photo ID.
What clothing do I need to wear?
All participants will be provided with appropriate clothing and PPE for the activity. This will include gloves, helmet, and goggles – all of these items are mandatory. Boiler suits are available should you wish to use one. If you do not want to wear a boiler suit you must have long sleeves and trousers. Suitable footwear must be worn such as trainers, or walking shoes – no open top shoes such as sandals or flip-flops.
Can I wear my own helmet?
No, due to the nature of this activity you must wear the helmet provided to you for safety.
Can I wear glasses?
As we will provide all participant with safety goggles, we recommend contact lenses where possible. Sunglasses are not permitted.
How many runs are included?
The Mountain Carting experience is a single run consisting of a journey up the mountain on the Funicular Railway and then a single run in the cart down the 3.4km track. If you would like a double session please book two sessions.
