Earlier this month, our new extended viewing terrace at the Ptarmigan Top Station opened. This gives visitors travelling on the Funicular the opportunity to be out on the mountain outside of the snowsports season, the area is fully accessible and has been a welcome addition to the Mountain Railway experience.
At Cairngorm Mountain, we pride ourselves on being a “mountain for all” and are always pleased to support visitors with accessibility requirements. This made the launch of our “Cairngorm” feature letters, located on the new terrace, extra special as pupils from Kingussie High School’s Additional Support Needs department were the first visitors to have their photo taken in front of the spectacular backdrop.
“Every Thursday we have a well-being class here at Kingussie High School. We are always out and about in the local community spending time, mostly outside doing a wide range of activities.
Today we are just back at school after a fantastic visit to Cairngorm Mountain. We can’t thank you enough for the care, support and attention your staff showed to the pupils from our Additional Support Needs department. To add to our positive experience all the facilities were very accessible and environment super inclusive. The new outdoor viewing gallery at the top station is fantastic.
We can’t thank you enough for helping us make positive memories for our pupils.” Nick Strange, Additional Support for Learning Teacher at Kingussie High School.
