Funicular Closed To Public For Two Brief Periods This Autumn

The Cairngorm Mountain Funicular is set to be closed to the public for two brief periods in September and November as we get ready for the coming snowsports season.

• 21st – 23rd September

This three-day closure is to enable Balfour Beatty to carry out a short period of work on behalf of Highlands and Islands Enterprise that will enhance the long-term durability of the viaduct.

• 3rd – 9th November

During the first week in November, we will undertake essential routine maintenance to ensure the highest safety and performance standards. Specialist engineers from Garaventa, Frey, Bosch Rexroth, alongside our own team, will carry out comprehensive checks and testing of the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in preparation to winter arriving.

Good news! Our Mountain Shop, Café, and toilet facilities will remain open as usual throughout the two short closures.

The Funicular will be open on Monday, 10th November, for visitors and we will be ready for an exciting Snowsports season ahead once the snow arrives. Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for another fantastic winter on Cairngorm Mountain!
