As we mentioned in our update at the beginning of Autumn, during the first week in November, we will undertake essential routine maintenance to ensure the highest safety and performance standards. Specialist engineers from Garaventa, Frey, Bosch Rexroth, alongside our own team, will carry out comprehensive checks and testing of the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in preparation to winter arriving.
Good news! Our Mountain Shop, Café, and toilet facilities will remain open as usual throughout the week.
The Funicular will be open on Monday, 10th November, for visitors and we will be ready for an exciting Snowsports season ahead once the snow arrives. Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for another fantastic winter on Cairngorm Mountain!
As we begin to turn our attention towards preparing for winter operations, this means that Mountain Carting and our Mountain Bike Trails will be closing for the season. This will allow our team to carry out some work on the upper trails and get the lower slopes ready for snowsports.
We will offer Tubing on an ad-hoc basis if the weather allows – please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates. The Adventure Play Park and Ball Runs will remain open every day (weather permitting) until the snow arrives.
The Motorhome Stopover facilties at Coire na Ciste including water feeds, chemical waste, and refuse disposal will be unavailable from Monday 3 November with them back in operation in May 2026. Visitors are still welcome to park overnight at the Ciste car park but please ensure you do so responsibly, leave no trace, and take all your waste away with you as this is actively used for overflow parking during the snowsports season.
