February Half Term At Cairngorm Mountain
February 6th, 2026.
Essential Information For Snowsports During February Half Term
Who fancies hitting the slopes over half term? We’ve put together a handy guide of everything you need to know if planning to visit us for snowsports this holiday period.
After every great storm there is sunshine (or snow in our case)! After a recent period of challenging weather, we are delighted to report that the majority of our slopes have filled in very nicely and it’s looking promising for some awesome snowsports to be enjoyed over February half-term.
Whilst we can’t guarantee what terrain and uplift will be available each day, daily updates will be posted to our Mountain Report and our Facebook Page by our on-the-ground Operations team.
It is essential that you always check this before travelling – it is the number one place for the latest updates on conditions.
Securing Your Pass
Lift passes will be available to book in advance through our webshop. Booking online is the only way to guarantee your pass. If you miss out, tickets may be available on site on a first-come-first-serve basis, however this is entirely dependent on what available terrain we have.
BOOK NOW
Please ensure you check you have booked the correct date before purchase as we are unable to reschedule your date during holiday season. For information on cancellations and refunds, please see our terms and conditions here.
Hiring Equipment
Our online equipment reservations system is available through our web shop. If you miss out, walk-in availability may be available on site, but please consider arranging your rental in advance from one of the local shops listed here.
BOOK RENTAL
Please be patient with our team – they are working as fast as they can to get equipment just right for you, however during our busy period there may be longer-than-normal wait times. Please note that due to limited availability we are currently only offering helmets as part of full rental packages.
Getting To The Resort
Throughout the winter season our car parks are used by a wide range of hill users and so fill up very quickly. We cannot guarantee parking, even for pre-booked customers, so it is essential that you arrive early to ensure you can get parked and out onto the slopes.
We’ve put together some helpful tips for visitors travelling to the resort over the coming weeks.
- Arrive early to ensure you get a space in the upper car park. When this is full, we aim to operate a shuttle bus service from the Coire na Ciste car park. Check out the Mountain Report for updates on shuttle bus operations.
- Park responsibly within bays, or if snow covered, as close to cars beside you as possible.
- Car share where you can. Check out Mountain Rideshare – a new initiative helping you connect with people already going the same way, making mountain travel cheaper, greener, and more social.
- Take public transport – Service 30 travels from Aviemore right to the resort
- Do not park in disabled bays unless you are a registered Blue Badge Holder.
- Do not block the road or bus stop.
Mountain Railway
Not planning to ski or snowboard? You can still experience the breathtaking mountain environment by taking a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway.
During this busy snowsports period, tickets will only be available for the Mountain Railway from the Ticket Office.
New To Snowsports?
For safety reasons, we do not allow complete beginners onto the slopes unless they are under instruction, or assisted by a competent skier/snowboarder.
Please contact one of our affiliated snowsports schools to book a lesson.
HOW TO BOOK A LESSON
Avoid The Lunch Time Queues
Eat early or late to avoid the busiest times in our cafes. Light bites and hot drinks are available from The Cas Bar. A wider lunch menu is available in the Cairngorm Cafe. A servery with multiple hot meal options, light bites, sweet treats and drinks is available in the Ptarmigan Restaurant at the top of the resort.
Please note, during this busy time, we may not be able to respond to messages, comments, and email enquiries and suggest following updates on our Mountain Report and social channels. If your enquiry is urgent, please contact the Ticket Office on 01479 861261 and we will do our best to assist.
