As of Monday 14th September, some path repair projects will be commencing on the Cairngorm Estate. The repairs will be on the Windy Ridge path which leads from the Coire Cas car park up towards the summit of Cairn Gorm. This work will be funded by the landowner, Highlands & Islands Enterprise.
Addition works, funded by the Mountain & the People project with be carried out on the Ciste ridge footpath leading from the Coire na Ciste car park.
The path repair & improvements are managed in partnership with Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland & Cairngorm Mountain Ranger Service.
Both work sites will be requiring some movement of building materials of stone and path surfacing by helicopter so diversions will be in place on the day of aircraft operations to ensure the safety of our visitors, contractors and aircraft crew.
These works are a continuation of investment into the path network on the Cairngorm Estate. HIE has spent in excess of 1 million pounds on path repairs across the estate in the last few decades, which helps reduce & manage the impact of the thousands of visitors that visit these mountains every year, protecting them for future generations
