The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the implementation of both a modern marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the ambition of the business; to become a world-class visitor destination, offering a product that is market focussed and presenting a quality customer experience with confidence. This role will be key to achieving this ambition working with the support of the CEO and senior management team.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent marketing, communication, and PR skills as well as the ability to integrate in the business community working in partnership with organisations such as the Cairngorms Business Partnership and the Cairngorm National Park to promote the destination as well as the attraction. There would be line management responsibility with several direct reports.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is accountable to the Chief Executive for providing management of all marketing, communications, and PR activity including sales and relationship management as well as delivery / management of all marketing and communications activity meeting sales and bottom-line targets.

The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience in marketing visitor attractions or in the tourism and leisure sector. They should also have a proven track record in delivering and meeting commercial targets within this type of environment.
The role will require a degree of flexible working including regular weekend working during the winter months, attendance at events and occasional overnight stays away from the place of work.
The Cairngorm Mountain Resort, managed by Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd (CMSL) is a popular mountain destination in Scotland, located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The Cairngorm Estate, the land in which the resort is situated, covers 1,418 hectares and is an internationally renowned area of scientific interest. Its surrounding area contains unique natural habitats and wildlife protected by EU legislation. The local area of Badenoch and Strathspey attracts over 1.8 million annual visitors predominantly in summer with the resort itself attracting circa 200,000 annual visitors.
In winter, the resort is a commercial snowsports operation and can attract over 120,000 skiing and snowboarding visitors during a busy season. In the summer, the resort transforms as the snow melts and becomes a hub of activity, offering a range of products, for a variety of visitor demographics ranging from outdoor enthusiasts to the family market.
