CairnGorm Wild Things

This entry was posted in News on July 18th, 2018.

For the younger explorer, we have teamed up with local children’s illustrator, June Armstrong. June has been instrumental in helping to develop a fun outdoor trail, “CairnGorm Wild Things”. The work she has produced includes a selection of bespoke colouring sheets with a quiz, a variety of animal drawings which will feature on information signs in the Mountain Garden, and the creation of CairnGorm Mountain’s very own snow Yeti character, Angus Spindrift. Angus will be visible throughout the resort directing you to the mountain garden and the Coire Cas Loop trail.

Other children’s activities at CairnGorm Mountain can be found in the Storehouse Restaurant during the summer, where youngsters can use their artistic skills to colour in the “Cairngorm Wild Things” and the Young Explorer Activity Sheet. We’re also proud to share our new mini funicular and dressing up box for the kids to play in and pose for their very own picture – remember to tag @CairngormMtn with your snaps!

June said: “It has been a pleasure to collaborate with the Rangers to produce a fun activity trail.

“I live locally and I am a fan of CairnGorm Mountain where I am a regular visitor all year round but especially as a winter skier. I have enjoyed creating Angus and would love to spend more time developing his story as part of an illustrated children’s book in the future.”

June Armstrong
