Go Wild with our Cairngorm Mountain Ranger Walks

Taking you closer to the wild landscape of the Cairngorms

Guided Walk on Cairngorm Mountain

Join an experienced ranger for a walk to the stunning Northern Corries.

Join us on selected dates from mid-May through to October for this half day experience from £20 per person.

Choose to book online to join a pre-arranged walk or scroll down to find out more about group or private walks.

The Northern Corries guided walk is a ‘must do’ when visiting the Aviemore and surrounding area. The Northern Corries make up the North West side of Cairn Gorm, Britain’s 6th highest mountain. A coire (corrie) or cirque is an amphitheatre like, bowl shaped valley formed by glacial erosion and a truly, dramatic landscape to visit 950 metres above sea level.

Our ranger walks offer you the chance to experience the wildness of our mountains with a knowledgeable ranger who will give you a fascinating insight into the Cairngorms environment. Discover amazing facts, see our incredible wildlife and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the mountain. You may even spot some of the Cairngorm Reindeer herd grazing.

What our Customers Say

Guests on a guided walk“Thank you for an outstanding day. The rangers really do know their stuff. From the history of the mountains, and the geomorphology, flora and fauna! I found it really encouraging to appreciate how the area is currently being managed and the vision for the future. Our small group enjoyed stunning views including looking down on a rainbow! The rangers ensured we walked to a pace that we could all enjoy. Highly recommended! Colin

Meet Your Guides

Our rangers have extensive knowledge of the land within the Cairngorm Estate and will strive to give you the best experience possible.

“We generally talk about life in the Cairngorms, sharing stories, experiences, facts, history and enjoy engaging in discussion with the group and hearing of their own experiences in the mountains. We always hope to see wildlife such as Red Grouse, Ptarmigan, Ring Ouzel, Mountain Hare, maybe even a wee cheeky Snow Bunting but, as you can imagine, we can’t guarantee it!”
