CairnGorm Mountain proactive in Wrist Injury Prevention
One of the most common injuries suffered by snowboarders is to their wrists, often resulting in significant fractures, yet research suggests that no more than 10% of all snowboarders wear any form of wrist protection*. The company will be providing the popular winter sports destination with a number of Flexmeter wrist guards to use in its hire operation.
Designed specifically for snowboarders by a sports trauma surgeon, Dr Marc-Herve Binet, the Flexmeter wrist guards incorporates Hytrel by Dupont, advanced shock absorbing materials, to offer some of the best protection on the market.
Wendy Sylvester, ski hire manager, CairngormMountain, says:
“My goal for this season is to be pro-active in the prevention of injuries caused from snowboarding and skiing. Our ski patrol team is a first class operation and now strongly recommends the use of wrist guards for all snowboarders on the hill.”
